I am a student from Paderborn who is working in the Bolton Libraries, Archives and Museum for a week to gain work experience abroad. I am here to inform you about my experience working there and events that take place in the Libraries, Archives and Museum.
Thursday, the 15th of March 2018:
This Thursday I helped at an event called “starting point”, where a class is invited to see the aquarium and listen to stories and do arts and crafts. Generally to have a good time. The class consists of young children from different countries whos mother tongue is not english. So first I helped set up the arts and crafts tables, where they were able to create their own fish. Then the children arrived and we went downstairs to the aquarium to see how the fish are fed. The children were very curious and loved it down there. Afterwards we went back upstairs to the childrens library where we read sories and tried to engage them. The children were then able to draw their own fish which they did with passion and a lot of glitter. Lastly they were able to have a look around and read some of the books.
It was a very lovely group of children with good manners and it was fun working with them and seeing how excited they were.
